As the summer heats up (finally) E7 is running hot to multiple alarms for the “Big Med”, several financial clients, a fine collection of new brand explorations, spirits packaging and even a sweet guitar maker featured on the Jimmy Fallon Show. Not to mention our ongoing tanker evolutions with the usual gang of great clients whom we are damn proud to keep on keeping on with. #hot

Well-Covered (Albany Med)

E7 took on the Albany Med Annual Report once again this year and followed-through on a hard-cover threat we’ve been making for years. With the 175th anniversary of the College upon us, we went with a history book concept that proved to be both a challenge as well as a refreshing change from the norm for the “teaching hospital.” Tight timelines and changing content never presented a problem for our crew. Fort Orange Press took on the production and got these books on the shelf in time for the annual meeting.

Louie, Louie

E7 took on one of our largest projects in 2013 as we were called on to design an entire restaurant on the upper rim of the Collar City. Not only developing the brand elements including logo, menus and other assorted materials, we also designed the entire building from exterior to interior. From flooring to furniture, siding to shingles and landscaping to lighting, we proudly call Louie’s in Troy, New York our tastiest project.

We’ve proudly created a logo, assisted as they developed their website and recently designed a presentation for them to help attract more partners and sponsors of the worthwhile program. They shoot, they score.

Seasons Playing Cards

What a Card

While at the HOW Design Conference in San Francisco, I met up with Alex Chin, a great guy and a packaging designer from Chicago who also has a side project designing and marketing high-art playing cards. The US Playing Card Company (Bicycle Playing Cards) called them “The most detailed cards we’ve ever printed.” Alex was also the only person I had a conversation with while spending a week at the conference. What’s wrong with me?

And Here’s The Pitch

In 1969, legendary graphic design pioneer Saul Bass took on the redesign of Bell System’s brand. This half hour pitch video walked Bell Systems executives though Bass’ fully envisioned brand overhaul from the identity itself right down to the uniforms of the linemen. It’s really cool, and kinda scary.

Heading West

The crews of E7 will be heading to SanFran this Summer to attend the HOW Design Live Conference. We’ll be refilling the creative tanks, sharpening the saw blades and reigniting our love for good creative. Although we’ll be in Cali for the week-long evolution, we’ll still be on-duty.

Recently we toured the facilities of one our newest clients, the Fort Miller Group, and saw over 700 hard working Americans all up in there. We’re currently pouring the foundation on several websites and logos for these fine folks. #sweat #honestdayswork
